This section is concerned with the objective phenomena most often associated with groups of people cooperating to produce physical phenomena. A review of the Séance articles will give you a sense of what we intend by physical phenomena.

On this website, phenomena is addressed as psi phenomena

When is evidence evidential?

By "objective evidence" it is intended that the evidence is in some way verifiable by others. By itself, "evidence" is just an example. When it can be experienced by others, when it is collaborated by other evidence collected in a different way or when it is the result of a protocol followed under controlled conditions, evidence may be considered objective evidence.

The phenomena produced by a physical medium is one of the most objective forms of evidence we know. It is also a form of phenomena that can be studied if the right precautions are taken to protect the medium.

The Big Circle

The ATransC Big Circle is part of the Association TransCommunication (ATransC). Its purpose is to support members who have loved ones that have made their transition to the other side, and to help them understand the role transcommunication can play in healing and spiritual growth regardless of belief system.

The Big Circle community on both sides of the veil is a growing par of Humankind that understands the survival of personality beyond so-called death and that our loved ones continue to be part of our lives. It is our intention that this website will serve the Big Circle community through research and education.

The Phenomena of the Séance Room

This section is concerned with aspects of mediumship that can be examined objectively.

In Spiritualism, mediumship is categorized as mental and physical. A mental medium is described as a practitioner who is able to sense information from etheric personalities and relay that information to sitters. The conceptual information in the etheric must be transformed into physical information, and it is thought that the medium's library of language, images and concepts is used as the source for "embodying" the information. That is, the etheric message is passed through the medium's worldview just as is any other experience. There is probably always a little influence from the medium. This is known as coloring. However, a well-trained medium knows how to "get out of the way" so that the the meaning of the message is faithfully conveyed to the sitter.

Mental mediumship is not considered objective unless it is supported by corresponding information that is objective. It is very difficult to establish that information conveyed by a mental medium is actually from a discarnate entity and not access via telepathy, logic, prior knowledge or simple guessing. As a general rule, the ATransC does not address mental mediumship unless it is part of corresponding evidence.

A physical medium is a person who is able to sense the intention of etheric communicators and facilitate that intention as physical, objective phenomena such as levitation, apports, direct voice, and materialization. Again, the worldview of the medium is a factor and the more the medium is able to step aside so that the etheric communicator is able to, in effect, assume control of the medium's body, the more effective the medium.

Mediumship is a special case of transcommunication and is considered objective in some cases. The verbal information relayed via a séance, for instance, is still subject to the constraints of mental mediumship; however, there is evidence that the medium operates from a much deeper trance, making it possible for the communicating entity to effectively bypass the medium's worldview.

This section is focused on transcommunication as experienced by physical development circles. This is objective phenomena, as opposed to subjective phenomena generally experienced with mental mediumship.
